Dr. Sonny Sowers is a second generation dentist, growing up locally in Newton, North Carolina. His father started the practice in 1966. Dr. Jerry Sowers practiced dentistry 40 years before retiring in 2000, when Sonny joined his father's practice.
Graduating from NC State University in 1992 with a B.S. in Textile Management, Sonny began work in the textile industry. After working in the industry a few years, Sonny felt compelled to follow in his father's footsteps and become a dentist. Sonny attended the Medical University of South Carolina and graduated with a certificate of Doctor of Dental Medicine in 2000. He began practicing general and cosmetic dentistry in his father's practice.
Just like his father, Dr. Sowers enjoys his community and has a passion for dentistry. Above all, Dr. Sowers enjoys the personal relationships developed with the families in his practice and his ability to help these individuals meet and maintain their dental health.
Dr. Sowers met his wife Nonie while attending NC State University. They have been married 23 years and have 2 children: Sally and Jay . They have a French Bulldogs: Elsie Marie. Sonny enjoys spending time with his family and friends, golf, tennis, baseball and is a huge NC State fan.
